Some of you would prefer wearing oversize shirts as dresses, paired with trainers or chunky heels and aviator sunglasses–while others are turning the androgynous item on its head by styling masculine shirts with soft, lace skirts. Then, there are the creative cool girls layering crop tops over crisp shirts, and then there is the classic way by tucking it into a pair of vintage Levi jeans. Really, it doesn’t matter how you choose to style it, just have fun!
What would you say if I told you there’s a look that's always trending in fashion so much so that it's almost a classic, and that you can steal from your boyfriends wardrobe? Right now stylish women are borrowing button-up business shirts from the boys and styling them in fresh ways that you’re going to love.

Today I'm a woman in black, black biker jacket, black leather jeans and black hair. I am mimicking a woman I read about in magazines and see in movies who only wears black and looks not unlike Patti Smith. I just read her new book and thought I'm going to be her today, I mean isn't that what we do?
The previous morning I was in a Faye Dunaway early 70's kinda mood. So on goes the coat along with the camel skirt and camel jumper and one of my vintage suede bags completes the look. In my attempt for a 70's hairdo I used some hair straightners which turned into a disaster, I'm a wash and go kinda girl but my family and friends are well aware that in my case a multiple personality disorder relates purley to fashion. I have always had a playful relationship with clothes and it's normally a film that inspires my fashion. I don't really have what you would call a signiture style except my converse which as far as I'm concerned goes with everything! So next time you read my blog if my fashion sense has manifested itself into high heels and a t shirt with something silly scrawled across my tit's please don't judge me, I know I would have been too old for this 10 years ago, but it's too late for reason now, I am on a roll. January, poor old January, it really does get bad press. Yes its cold and grey and very wet! With December being the wettest and warmest month on record, i'ts the time we all seem to have a month long endurance test of detox and intense workouts along with moaning about how cold it is and how skint we are, oh and not forgetting you will never, ever eat carbs again well not until Feb anyway. Well look on the bright side peeps January Is the chance to kick back relax and have a good clear out of all the things we never had time to do in the chaos of December. I have been in so much pain for the last month (dental mishap) that I have only just discovered what lies in the back of my fridge and I can tell you its not a pretty sight, it looks like an experiment for bacterial growth. Most of my wardrobe is still on the floor from my Christmas frenzy, and under my mountain of clothes I found my favorite Kenzo bag, but the most exciting find was the suitcase I discovered in my storage from two summers ago, now if you don't pack away clothes for different seasons I suggest you start as its as exciting as rummaging through the rails in Selfridges you really won't remember what you had two summers ago, well not if you shop as much as me you won't. So now I have a very cute pair of canvas and leather Chanel espadrilles, a lovely Moschino quilted bag, and a host of other gorgeous things available for you to buy at paristexasvintage.com I need the space for new finds...
Anyway girls January can be fun so put on a some silk Pj's & cashmere socks and snuggle up for a Netflix marathon! Its always really cool to realise that another year has come to an end. I'm always excited for the next year,
being very uncertain and curious to know what will happen. Very same how I feel right now too. At the same time I wish I could go back in time and tell myself that everything will work out, just the way I want it to but then I guess it would take the wonderment out of it. First thing that comes to my mind about my 2015 is travel, as I spent quiet a few months away from home. . I discovered some new places, visited some of my old favourites and really made the most of not having to ask for a holiday, as I used to when I worked for an employer. I took quiet a few flights and covered many, many, many, miles in cars and our huge Rv bus. I visited: Paris, Budapest, Austria , Slovenia, and many states in the USA including Palm Springs, Florida, Tennessee, North and south Carolina, Georgia, and the Beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. I loved them all. As you are reading this I am finishing my year in Wales and getting ready for my next trip in a couple of weeks where I will be landing in Florida and embarking on a long road trip visiting New Orleans, Texas, New Mexico, Aspen Colorado and California taking in Hollywood and visiting Chateau marmont in Beverly hills for the very first time to do a photo shoot. This will be another big buying trip for Paris texas Vintage and I'm very excited! 2015 was the year of challenges. I tried to figure out right ways to do stuff, to work with brands and to work on my own branding and started my first blog. working with vintage clothing, I really learned to be more selective and choose items that I know will work for my audience it's a constant challenge but I love my job soooo much. 2015 for me was also the year I learned about vlogging and making my own videos something I look forward to doing more often In 2016. On the personal note 2015 was a year in which I mended a broken heart and swapped it for a brand new one. My sister and I made peace at last. It was a year in which I established who are people similar to me, people who love me for who I am and people who are there for me. It was a year of putting difficult situations to an end, and pursuing the ones that are worth while. I realised I have some amazing people around me who really kick ass, who are amazing, beautiful souls, generous with their love and who are my biggest treasures of the year. Happy New year people may 2016 be full of new dreams that you make come true. |
