Good afternoon! It's great to see the sun shining. Yesterday was spent driving the beautiful countryside of Powys Wales and afternoon tea atwww.ynyshirhall.co.uk A girl needs refreshments when on the hunt for outfits, and today I am visiting the university town of Aberystwyth and Machynlleth to peruse the charity shops so I could style a shoot for you, and hopefully provoke a little inspiration for the spring days to come.

Most of my favorite finds and treasured wardrobe pieces come from charity shops around the globe. You don't need to spend huge amounts of money to have a great wardrobe. The constant cycle and changes in fashion can drive us all a little crazy at times (no matter how infatuated you are with it). It's not all about the latest trend I find inspiration from my huge magazine collection all the way back to the 50's and re-create a look on how I feel that day and what makes me feel good. Don't worry about "what's in fashion" create your own unique look and have fun!

I arrived on a cool February morning at Marrakesh airport with just a carry-on and tons load of enthusiasm for the next 3 days. I'm taken to my resort hotel which is about 15 minutes outside this frenetic city, and i arrive to be greeted by a calm and tranquil haven complete with own butler serving exquisite hot sweet mint tea. I am shown to my suite which i must say is rather nice with a little roof terrace, and i even get my own driver to transport me to and from the old town Medina JEMAA-EL-FNA

Now Jemaa-El-Fna has to be my favorite site upon arrival my senses are awakened, almost abused with the sounds and smells of this magical place.
It can be a little daunting, touts calling out to you from every angle. The snake charmers, the henna ladies, monkeys and their handlers although a bit overwhelming i couldn't get enough of this madness! and I will be back... and I must tell you Its an experience not to be missed.

Well, I must say I have been organised with getting ready for my trip to Marrakesh so I decided to spend the morning chilling out with my babies Archie and Mary and taking a leisurely lunch. Some last minute packing is required as no matter how organised I am I always seem to need more stuff at the last minute. So am I excited? very! to be heading for Marrakesh and I have also done some research on travel blogs to help me prepare for the frenetic city.

Here are some tips to share with you for your travels ahead.

1, Do plan ahead look for blogs on your chosen place city locals and tourist alike will give you tips for the best experience.

2, what are your expectations?
How many days are you planning on going for? then find your top 5 things that you can accomplish in that time. You won't be able to do it all! I'm not saying don't be spontaneous but a little prioritising will enable you to see the best things for you.

3, Cultural practices.
Cultural differences and local manners travelling the globe can be a behavioural minefield, even when you have the best intentions. Dressing, eating and greeting can all go wrong and end up offending your fellow man so I suggest a little research on the country you are visiting will help you enjoy your trip and the cultural differences.
Most of all HAVE FUN!

Well, this glorious sunny day pulled me briefly away from the cyber world today and into the quaint market town of Newcastle Emlyn for a working lunch. This little riverside cafe is local to me and the perfect place to work and fill my hungry self at the same time. I order home-made roasted tomato soup with big chunks of bread. Melt in the middle chocolate pudding with ice cream for dessert, which sure looks like it is going to send me into a food induced coma within the hour! But really I can't resist and, after all, I am perusing over Paris Texas new collection of spring jumper and you all know how excited I get over new stock!

Lately, I've been cheating on fashion and experimenting with beauty products, its a lot of fun but the search for the best products can be exhausting! Like the most effective way to apply them and if they are the right one's for you.

Hello! another little taste of wales for you on a rather windy Saturday afternoon I'm heading for the beautiful coast of Stackpole with my babies Archie and Mary. I couldn't be more grateful for experiences like this as for me, spending time in nature with my babies is the ultimate pleasure as well as vintage clothing and traveling of course! all of which put a huge smile on my face. Another thing that pleases me about wales (other than her beauty) is no matter what the weather is finding solace in one of the many different tea rooms drinking sweet mint tea and gorgeous homemade cakes while watching the many visitors relaxing their weekend away... Today I'm visiting the boathouse tea rooms in Stackpole quay which is a firm favorite not only is it a stunning location its a great place to sit and watch the sea gently lap against the stony shore. Hope you are all having a great weekend.

 As Some of you already know I have been desperately trying to plan a sunny getaway between now and my big America trip in April. I feel most alive when watching the sun rise from a new place, while drinking espresso and indulging in cake! For me visiting new places is not only about the adventure but always a life changing experience, and of course one of the best parts is I get to play dress -up and change into character to fit in with the locals, and experiment with different styles.

So after much searching I have chosen Marrakesh for my adventure this time and with some research and good advice from friends I am going to share with you what to pack when only taking a carry on bag (my fear of an airline loosing my luggage) and its only 4 days anyway. 

There's nothing quite like the sunshine to make you dream of warmer climes so I thought I would share with you some outfits that would usally be saved for the summer wardrobe but worn with the finest of merino base layers you can still wear a pretty dress and be warm. Perfect for a weekend filled with fresh air and green landscapes.

I'm going to tell you about one of my favorite style icons Edith Bouvier Beale. Also known as little Edie of Grey Gardens. She was seriously eccentric, stylish in a gloriously mad cat lady kinda way. An American socialite who also just happened to be Jackie Onassis' first cousin. The debutante came to poplar attention through a documentary called Grey Gardens, an absolute must see and with an amazing performance played by Drew Barrymore.

Little Edie was a fascinating character. Her now legendary style was eclectic to the extreme with a mix of 50's pin-up bathing suits, fur, fur and fur and her trademark turban, which was usually any item of clothing she could find which she would then make into a fashion statement in just a few minutes.  Her imaginative fashion DIY was admired. She would refer to her outfits as "costumes" which seemed to be her defense against the world, but more importantly, they seemed to cheer her up.

So I guess we can all relate to this in some way? On these grey winter days I find myself craving celebratory pieces and all that glitters and shines, like the vintage diamante bracelet that cost a small fortune, bought for me many years ago, that I will always cherish, and today I will wear it with a heavy tweed Prada suit and patent Doc Martens to pay homage to Little Edie.

It's beautiful and fun and it makes me smile whenever I wear it, I hope I'm not alone in this desire to dress up. " It's all about escapism"
